PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SPRAYERS FOR FOOD PRODUCTION AND AGRICULTURE
Sprayer tools and machines are important tools to support food and agricultural production, especially in controlling plant pests and diseases. The need for machine tools sprayer is increasing so that it triggers the development of machine tools sprayer industry. Testing the quality of machine tools sprayer is needed to guarantee and provide protection to users, especially farmers. The test results on several sprayer machinery produced in the country and imported with procedures referring to Indonesia’s National Standard (SNI) to indicate that the machine tools tested have met the specified criteria. This activity supports the achievement of the SDGs 2 in terms of against hunger through increasing food production
DRONE TRAINING
Drone is well known as unmanned vehicle that controlled by a device such as remote control. Drones in nowadays are varies depend on their own purpose. CREATA was held a programme to enhance technician, lecturer, and students to participate in navigating or piloting drone. Agricultural drone that mainly used is sprayer drone. It was attended by many participants. Pupils were taught by main pilot and man in charge of spraying drone from overseas. The activities were went successfully and everyone enjoys by learning from it.
DEVELOPMENT OF TEA LEAVES WASTE PELLETS AS BOILER FUEL IN FOOD INDUSTRY
The purpose of the partnership research with industry in 2020 is to develop technology for processing industrial tea leaf waste into pellets that can be used as biomass fuel for boilers. The research includes the characterization of the psycho-chemical and thermal properties of tea leaf waste, development of technology for making pellets from tea leaf waste and testing the utilization of tea waste pellets as boiler fuel. The results showed that tea waste pellets can be used as boiler fuel quite well, so the industry is interested in developing a commercial scale of tea waste pellets production. This activity supports the achievement of the SDGs 9 in terms of on increasing industrial competitiveness and innovation and SDGs 15 that is maintain land ecosystem through utilization of agro-industry waste.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SOLAR ENERGY-BASED DRYING MACHINES TO IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF DRYING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
Drying of agricultural products is usually done by drying or using a drying machine using fuel oil or agricultural waste. Drying has operational problems when it rains suddenly and the drying temperature varies. While the dryer requires a high enough fuel or energy. One solution to overcome the obstacles in both drying techniques is the development of a solar energy-based drying machine with the greenhouse effect (GHE) technique. A number of industries have developed various types of GHE dryers. In order to guarantee the quality of GHE dryers, a number of GHE dryers have been evaluated in 2020. The evaluation results show that the developed GHE drying machine can be used for drying agricultural commodities with good quality results and meets the specified quality requirements. Activities contribute to achieving the SDGs 7 for clean and affordable energy
